Mr. Cross.
Please dont think I've flaked out or anything, but I felt very compelled to send you an email today. Yesterday I had one of "those days" that we all have from time to time. I dont have many of them just one every now and then mostly just from being completely spent (I'm sure you can identify). When I do have one of those days I sort of just try to feel my way through it doing the best I can. I usually try to look for positive things and keep a perspective that is real. You just happened to be part of a positive spin on my day yesterday.
When Matthew got in the car to go to TaeKwon-Do I heard him say under his breath excitedly, "I get to learn Won-Hyo tonight." We chatted on the way to class normally. During class watching the kids and watching you teach them, I was overwhelmed with an appreciation of what you do and the positive way it affects the lives of your students. Youre a Christian, husband, father, school teacher, TaeKwon-Do instructor, and you impact our world in a great way with everything you do.
We decided early on that we weren't going to have Matthew in everything. Even with one child that can be difficult time-wise as well as financially for a family. We decided we would try supporting his interests if they are wholesome and allow him to develop and cultivate his gifts whatever they may be. While you were teaching class I thought about your slogan, mantra, or motto that I have seen you use "Teaching the Art of Life." Wow! You really are doing that and I just want you to know how much I appreciate that you do what you do and you do it so well.
TaeKwon-Do has been so good for Matthew. I don't have dreams of him becoming a champion fighter or anything. Im just letting him learn what you are teaching and it really is life stuff. Much of the same stuff we teach him, but as a parent yourself, you know that to get reinforcement from other places is so encouraging in a world that where so many other influences are so rampant.
So, all of this just to say thank you for what you do. I would hate to think I never told you how much it means.
In His Grip!
Cliff
